Before and After
Job Overview
Out in Pacific Palisades, where ocean air and hillside homes meet, getting rid of an old fridge isn’t always as easy as dragging it to the curb. A client recently contacted us to remove a large “built-in” Sub-Zero refrigerator that hadn’t been opened since the January 2025 fire evacuation order. That sort of situation basically guarantees dangerous mold inside, so we wore protective gear and were careful to avoid opening the doors.
The fridge was wedged tightly between custom shelving and had to be carefully maneuvered out without damaging the surrounding area, then wrapped with plastic to ensure nothing toxic escaped during the extraction. Thankfully, we’ve handled our fair share of oversized appliances in upscale kitchens, so although there were some tight passages, we completed the task while avoiding any damage whatsoever.
Here’s how it went down:
- Carefully detached the fridge from the kitchen cabinetry without causing any damage
- Checked for potential leaks or water line issues before moving it
- Used furniture dollies to navigate a tight turn and a few steps down to the sidewalk leading to the driveway
- Loaded it into the truck without scratching the floor or damaging the garage walls
- Made sure the area was left clean and free of any debris after the removal
