Before and After
Job Overview
In Westwood Village, we were called in for a job that every homeowner dreads: removing a broken refrigerator. The appliance had already been emptied and partially disassembled, with doors, drawers, and shelves spread across the hardwood floor. All that was left was the heavy lifting.
As you can see in the photo, the fridge was staged in the dining room, standing tall next to a table and chairs. Getting a bulky item like this out of a house requires planning. Refrigerators are awkward, heavy, and tough to angle through doorways without damaging trim or floors. Our Los Angeles junk removal crew specializes in these challenges, making it simple for residents across Westwood Village to clear out old appliances.
This neighborhood has a mix of older apartments and classic homes, many with narrow arches and small kitchens. That makes refrigerator removal one of the trickiest tasks for anyone trying to handle it solo. With appliance removal in Los Angeles, we make sure the process is efficient and safe.
Our Approach:
- Removed all shelves, drawers, and doors to lighten the frame and protect glass from breaking.
- Laid protective padding across the hardwood floor to prevent scratches during the move.
- Tilted and maneuvered the fridge carefully through the arched doorway and into the kitchen entry.
- Carried it as a two-person team straight to the truck, securing it for proper disposal and recycling.
More From This Job
In just one visit, the home was free of the oversized appliance, leaving the dining room clear again. The client could now bring in a new refrigerator without worrying about where the old one would go. For residents of Westwood Village, sometimes it only takes one tough item to remind you why professional junk hauling is worth the call.
