Before and After
Job Overview
This week in Glendale, we helped a local tenant clear out an old window AC unit that had overstayed its welcome. The unit wasn’t just heavy, it was partially rusted into place and had to be carefully detached to avoid damaging the frame.
What made this job stand out was the location: second-floor apartment, no elevator, and the AC unit was wedged into a tight window cutout with weather stripping and brackets that hadn’t been touched in years. It wasn’t a simple pull-and-go.
Here’s how it went down:
- Brought the right tools to safely detach the unit from its bracket
- Carefully removed the weather stripping to avoid damage
- Lowered the unit from the window using a two-person team
- Cleaned up rust flakes and insulation bits from the floor and sill
- Hauled the old AC away for responsible disposal
